In a stunning turn of events, human chess player Ike Roy has defeated all existing chess programs, as well as every human player who has ever lived, to become the undisputed champion of the game. Mr. Roy, who had previously been an unremarkable amateur player, suddenly began making waves in the world of chess several months ago when he announced that he had developed a revolutionary new playing style that was "impossible to beat." At first, most chess experts dismissed Mr. Roy's claims as the delusions of an overconfident amateur. But as he began racking up victories against top-rated players and computer programs alike, the chess world began to take notice.
